Gibraltar Regatta 2008

This years Gibraltar regatta was blessed with ideal sailing conditions for all 3 scheduled yacht races. The "Round the Rock race" started with a beat to Algeciras, Atlantic Charters entry Seawolf took advantage of the port biased line and made a text book Port tack start, clearing the bows of the whole fleet who set off on starboard tack. As the yachts sailed round Europa Point the wind had increased dramatically, showing gusts of 35knots and giving surfing speeds of 13.5 knots. Trumpeter of the Rock was the first boat to round Europa for the second time, closely followed by Seawolf then the Holdings sponsored 40.7- Noticia. Trumpeter took line honours at the Aero buoy finish, followed by Seawolf second and Noticia third. Vikingo, finishing 15 minutes later, split the 3 lead boats on corrected time, to take second place.

Our next event is the
Sotogrande Regatta on the 14th August, please contact us if you would like to join the crew for this great sailing and social event
