RYA Yachtmaster Sailing Course Gibraltar

After a successful weekends racing at the Sotogrande regatta, our newly trained mast man Simon Hayes (pictured above) went straight into a week of RYA training in preparation for his Yachtmaster examination on the following Saturday. He had 2 RYA Competent Crew students with him to practice his skippering skills on.
The week threw strong winds, light airs, thick fog and numerous tricky situations at him, all of which he handled admirably, resulting in a pass after being examined on Friday night and Saturday morning. Congratulations Captain Hayes!!

Sotogrande Regatta August 2008

This years Sotogrande Regatta has so far been the highlight of the sailing calendar for Atlantic Charters Racing. Three races were run, giving our sailing team results of 4th, 3rd and FIRST respectively, which resulted in a second place in class 2 and 4th overall out of 30+ yachts. RYA Sailing School Gibraltar 13/ Iberian Seguros

The first stage of branding to Seawolf was completed this week, Iberian Seguros (Spanish Insurance) has been added to the hull. The new branded Quantum, kevlar sails are due to arrive at the end of August.
The first outing is at the Sotogrande Regatta this Friday, the 15th of August.
