RYA Training at Sancti Petri from Cadiz

Posted by: Dave Latham, on: Sunday, April 11, 2010
Our recent RYA Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster prep course took us sailing out of the bay of Cadiz to the abandoned village of Sancti Petri 15 miles South of Cadiz, we sailed on board "Bongani" a Pronavia 38, sister ship to "Seawolf", Bongani is now based in and operating out of Marina bay Gibraltar offering all RYA training courses and frequent sailing courses to Cadiz.

The newly refurbished Castle at the mouth of the river is now a prominent landmark, ideal for position fixing prior to approaching the tricky tidal estuary.

Once safely inside the opportunities open up for ferry gliding, sailing on and off moorings etc in this fast moving tidal river.
We plan to sail to Cadiz from Gibraltar throughout the summer of 2010, please contact us for dates and details.

Benalmadena Regatta Easter 2010

Posted by: Dave Latham, on: Monday, April 05, 2010
Seawolf and her crew enjoyed a fantastic Easter weekends sailing in the Bay of Malaga, the first yacht racing regatta for 2010. Light airs on the first 2 days racing left us with 2 6th places in a fleet of 14 competative yachts. On the third day the wind increased to a fresh 18knots, enabling us to sail amongst the lead boats, after 2 great starts we finished 5th and 3rd in the 2 races. Overall position being 5th, quite respectable from a crew who had never sailed together before.
Well done to all onboard.

Our next sailing excursion from Gibraltar is the Alboran race at the end of April.
