His new investment comes in the form of "The Beast", a DÜRKOOP ADLER 366 sailmakers sewing machine, now fully installed and commissioned in the UK Halsey sail loft in Torremolinos, Malaga, Spain. This machine is recognised as the ultimate sewing machine currently available, made in Germany it out powers all other sailmakers sewing machines, it is capable of powering its needle through 20mm of Dacron, Kevlar or leather, with its adjustable speed, pitch and zig zag action it can take on the largest sails you can imagine, described by the German manufacturer as the Porsche of sewing machines, it is without doubt the strongest machine ever produced.
This new addition to the lofts capability has greatly increased the sailrepair and new sail service we continue to offer in Gibraltar, with 24 hour turn around for visiting yachts who urgently need to continue sailing onwards or a weekly service for longer stay yachtsmen. Saladillo Yacht Club, Algeciras hosted this weekends second race in the interclub series, setting a 2 lap course off the beach at Gitares, Gibraltar bay in a freshening westerly breeze. Noticia II were the first to cross the start line, unfortunately for them a bit too early and had to return to re-start, this left a clean gap for Seawolf and Luna VI to head for the first mark, these positions remained the same for the entire race with a close battle for third with Yogi's JOD35 Altarick.
