Our recent
RYA Coastal Skipper and
Yachtmaster prep course took us sailing out of the bay of Cadiz to the abandoned village of
Sancti Petri 15 miles South of Cadiz, we sailed on board "
Bongani" a
Pronavia 38, sister ship to "
Seawolf",
Bongani is now based in and operating out of Marina bay Gibraltar offering all
RYA training courses and frequent sailing courses to Cadiz.
The newly refurbished Castle at the mouth of the river is now a prominent landmark, ideal for position fixing prior to approaching the tricky tidal estuary.
Once safely inside the opportunities open up for ferry gliding, sailing on and off moorings etc in this fast moving tidal river.
We plan to sail to Cadiz from Gibraltar throughout the summer of 2010, please
