Round Malta 2 man Race report, 2017

Seawolf 2 man race round Malta

The annual round Malta 2 man race took place on Saturday 1st April, the fleet of 9 yachts set off at 0900 for a one lap clockwise circumnavigation of the isle of Malta. The early fast pace was soon halted as the wind died inside of Filfla island. After a couple of hours frustration and perseverance the wind filled in and the fleet set off again, the advantage was now with the smaller boats in the fleet who had caught the stationary class 1 boats. At around 1800 the first boats were crossing the finish line after a glorious afternoon of champagne sailing.

Victory finally went to Lartista, the well sailed and smallest boat in the fleet a First 35, followed by Seawolf in second place and Aziza sailed by Dmitry, the only Russian team in the race.
