25 local yachts took part in last weekends short handed race from Sotogrande to Ceuta.
light airs at the start soon increased to a blustery 25 knots Westerly once past Europa Point, Gibraltar. Events included the unfortunate dis-masting of one yacht which lost control whilst crossing the bows of an anchored Merchant ship! Timon Roche stood on to help, receiving second place honours after redress.
Victory went to the consistently sailed Ciudad de Ceuta
Seawolf finished in a respectable 5th place.
The next sailing event local to Gibraltar is the Ceuta 2+2 Regatta commencing on the 25th September.
