Inter Club Yacht Race Series 2020
18 JANUARY 2020 – CLUB NÁUTICO SALADILLO
The interclub yacht race series is ideal for people looking to “have a go” at racing at low cost and without the pressure or stress of a full on serious league race. With races scheduled once a month throughout the year they make a great social event as well as fun sailing. They will also act as ideal training days for forthcoming regattas. Price for the full day is only £130.00, this includes dinner and drinks in the host yacht clubs after racing. Ceuta races will include sailing over Friday evening and returning on Saturday evening or Sunday morning accomodation onboard both nights if reqd.

Algeciras Regatta 2009/ Sailing Gibraltar
Seawolf and her new novice crew enjoyed another great weekends sailing in the Bay of Gibraltar, taking part in the annual Algeciras Regatta. Saturdays race took the fleet of 21 yachts west into the straits of Gibraltar towards Tarifa then back to the finish off Algeciras Marina. Making blistering upwind speed followed by an adrenalin filled kite leg back, Seawolf took victory by over 14 minutes from probably the most respected Beneteau 40.7 in the area “Noticia 2”. Last weekends Sotogrande to Ceuta Yacht Race got off to a slow start with light airs and strong tides. Noticia wriggled away through the wind holes behind the rock of Gibraltar to take first place overall, followed by Suka, Ciudad de Ceuta and Seawolf in Fourth place. The result left us second in class and fourth overall out of 17 competing boats, a great effort by all on board who were all new to yacht racing having completed only 1 evenings training prior to this race, well done to all who sailed with us. The Sotogrande Winter league reached its finale this weekend, with the unfortunate last minute cancellation of the final race in the series. This resulted in Victory being awarded to Seawolf of Southampton as we had a 7 point lead prior to the cancellation.
