Rolex Middle Sea Race 2011
Seawolf’s crew are today making final preparations for the start of this years Rolex Middle Sea Race on Saturday 22nd here in the Grand Harbour Valletta. After a weeks training and 5th place in the coastal race on Wednesday the Ibex insurance sponsored team are now well prepared for the 600 mile race around Sicily. The recent sinking of an old World War II working boat whilst at anchor in La linea, Gibraltar bay, prompted the admiralty to lay a rarely seen “new wreck buoy”. Three days yacht racing hosted by Real Club Maritimo Sotogrande delivered the closest competition so far this year on the Andalucian coast, with a total of 35 yachts and sports boats entered.
