Travelers can now experience fast track entry into both Spain and Gibraltar from the new terminal. Sailing from Gibraltar is now easier than ever with daily flights to Manchester, Liverpool and London, by Easter 2012 the airport is hoping to navigate to East Midlands airport as well. With the tidal waters of the Straits of Gibraltar only minutes away from the runway, transfers from your flight to your yacht are completed in less than 30 minutes thus giving you the maximum time available on board the yachts to enjoy your sailing course or charter holiday. Gibraltar is becoming an RYA sailing school center of excellence, endorsed by the number of new sailing schools currently operating from Gibraltar or using Gibraltar as a valuable stop over port during training courses.
Destinations within an easy days sailing from Gibraltar include Cadiz, Sancti Petri, Barbate, Tarifa on the Spanish Atlantic coast, then East sailing in to the med opens up opportunities to set a course to Sotogrande, Marbella, Benalmadena and ports towards Malaga. For the more adventurous sailor crossing the strait of Gibraltar to the African continent makes passages to Tangier’s, Ceuta and Marina Smir a tidal challenge easily accomplished during a day sail.
