Inter Club Yacht Race Series 2020
18 JANUARY 2020 – CLUB NÁUTICO SALADILLO
The interclub yacht race series is ideal for people looking to “have a go” at racing at low cost and without the pressure or stress of a full on serious league race. With races scheduled once a month throughout the year they make a great social event as well as fun sailing. They will also act as ideal training days for forthcoming regattas. Price for the full day is only £130.00, this includes dinner and drinks in the host yacht clubs after racing. Ceuta races will include sailing over Friday evening and returning on Saturday evening or Sunday morning accomodation onboard both nights if reqd.

Richard and Paul pictured above recently passed their RYA Yachtmaster offshore examination here in Gibraltar. Their cunning ploy to keep Alan, the examiner constantly drinking tea obviously paid off, after 14 hours or so of rigorous testing they both passed with flying colours…well done. Liam (helming) arrived in Gibraltar on the same week as a complete novice to sailing and successfully completed his competent crew course, rounding off his week crewing for the guys during their yachtmaster exam. Saturday the 26th Feb saw the second fun race of 2011, hosted by Sotogrande yacht club. 36 yachts turned out for the start off sotogrande and set off in to a freshening westerly breeze to the aero buoy off Gibraltar. This first leg proved both tactical and exciting, soon to be followed by a sleigh ride kite leg to the finish at Sotogrande.
