Benalmadena Easter regatta report
The 2011 Easter Benalmadena regatta gave 3 days of great sailing in varying wind conditions. Thursdays race commenced after a short postponement with light on shore winds, after approximately an hour a band of black clouds descended on to the fleet bringing squally winds and rain plus the odd fork of lightning!! La Linea Fun Race 19th March
Once again 40 yachts turned out for the 3rd yacht race in the fun race series, sunny skies and a gentle Easterly breeze made for a perfect days sailing in Gibraltar bay. The windward / leeward course took approximately 2 hours to complete and was followed by a lavish buffet in the La Linea yacht club. Sotogrande to Gibraltar fun race 2011
Saturday the 26th Feb saw the second fun race of 2011, hosted by Sotogrande yacht club. 36 yachts turned out for the start off sotogrande and set off in to a freshening westerly breeze to the aero buoy off Gibraltar. This first leg proved both tactical and exciting, soon to be followed by a sleigh ride kite leg to the finish at Sotogrande. Sailing is our way of life, alongside our RYA sailing school, we train and compete in yacht races on board immaculate owner-operated yachts.
